Dorothy Mae Stanfill, 89, went to Heaven at 7:35 AM on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Desoto Healthcare in Southaven, MS. Dorothy was born on October 6, 1924 in Memphis, TN. , the daughter of Lloyd and Lula May (Artman) Jones. She was raised in Danville, IL and after her high school graduation she returned to Memphis and married R.C. Stanfill on August 15, 1947. He preceded her in death on February 11, 1999.

She will be sadly missed by her sister, J. Marie Snook of Westville, IL., two nieces, Diana (Ron) Harper of Tilton, IL, Kathy (Chuck) McBee of Westville, IL., two great-nephews, Adam (Jamie) Decker and their children, Sydney, Nolan an Savannah Decker, all of Fishers, IN., Shawn (Amber) Harper of Westville, IL., and all of her caring friends and neighbors.

Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed living on the lake for 54 years. She was an avid and knowledgeable sports fan. She was also an animal lover and cared for any stray that camped at her door. She had a generous nature and a truly loving soul.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 Friday, April 25, 2014 at Forest Hill South Funeral Home in Memphis with the Reverend Larry Woodruff officiating. Visitation will be at 9:00, one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be at Forest Hill South. Memorials may be made to the donor''s choice.
