Mrs. Dorthy Jean (Wright) Tisdale, of Memphis, passed away early Monday morning after complications from surgery after a fall. Mrs. Tisdale was born February 9, 1930 in Alexandria, Virginia, the only daughter of Hattie Mae Jenkins and Edgar Eugene Wright. She briefly worked for the F.B.I., where she met and married her husband of 66 years, J.D. "Tex" Tisdale. They had four children, Linda Susan Tisdale Kuczwanski, Bradley Shannon Tisdale, Rebecca Lea Tisdale Cowan, and Gregory Eugene Tisdale (deceased). Sister Jean was a Past Worthy Matron of Oakville Eastern Star, Chapter #265, and also served as its long-time Secretary. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Gregory Clayton Barham, Christopher Brandon Barham, and Kimberly Joy Tisdale, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Ashley Nichol Barham and Dennis Michael Barham. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m on Friday, April 7, and funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Forest Hill Funeral Home East, with interment immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer''s Association (Alz.org/donation).
