In Loving Memory of Dorris Dean Spurlock (DD)
D.D, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud Marine, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 1st at the age of 96. Known for his charismatic spirit , DD touched the lives of many and left a lasting legacy of faith, love, strength, and resilience. DD was a devoted father to his three children: two sons, Kenneth Micheal (Sue), Mitchell (Janet),and a daughter, Melinda (David) His love for his family was boundless, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and the families they built. His legacy continues through his seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who adored him and cherished the wisdom and warmth he imparted. A man of deep faith, DD was an active member of Providence Presbyterian Church, where he found community and strength. His faith was a guiding light throughout his life and provided comfort and direction in times of both joy and challenge. DD was known for his magnetic personality and ability to light up any room with his presence. His stories, laughter, and unwavering positivity were a source of joy and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him. DD will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross his path. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his spirit will continue to inspire future generations. A graveside service will be held on August 7th at 10:00 am at Forest Hill South where family and friends will gather to celebrate his remarkable life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Providence Presbyterian Church or St Jude in DD's honor. Rest in peace, DD. Your life was a testament to God, love, courage, and the enduring power of a charismatic soul. You will be forever missed and remembered with great affection.
