Obituary

Doyle Charles Bailey (95) died on the evening of Saturday, December 19, 2020.  He was born February 21, 1925, in Plummerville, AR.  Doyle was survived by his wife of 73 years, Margaret Frances Scott Bailey.  He had three children: Bobby Doyle Bailey of Lakeland, TN, Larry Wayne Bailey of Bartlett, TN. and Patricia Ann Bailey Frizzell of Millington, TN, and five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Doyle has two surviving siblings: Norma Rachel Starosky of Berkley, California and Lillian Morris of Kennett, MO.

Doyle was born to Levi Anderson and Wilma Agnes Bailey and was the third of six children.

Doyle served his country in the Army infantry.  Doyle was a World War II veteran and wounded at North Apennines, near Florence, Italy on September 11, 1944. He was awarded several medals including the European-African Middle Eastern Theater, two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. Doyle as a young man was a farmer in Arkansas, later moved to Memphis, TN and retired from the Naval Air Station at Millington, TN with 37 years as an electronics mechanic and electrician. He was a deacon at Sky Lake Baptist Church of Memphis, TN and current member of First Baptist church of Lakeland, TN.

Due to current COVID infection risks, graveside services will be limited to immediate family members.  A memorial service will be held after the COVID risks are no longer risks to you or loved ones.
