Eddie Lawrence (Sonny) "Hot Rod" Harris, 78, departed this life on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. He was formerly a truck driver for Charles Liberto, Mahaffey Brothers, Wooten Transport, and Delta Refinery (Valero). He leaves to cherish his memory his ultimate loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Claudette Jones Harris; 5 children, Stanley Harris (Lisa), Cynthia Ruffin (Russell), Rodney Harris (Stephanie), Eva Hawkins (Bennie) all of Memphis, TN, and Gregory Harris of Mt. Juliet, TN; 1 caring sister Ms. Annie Belle Saunders; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Elethia Jones; 1 sister-in-law, Mrs. Alma Wilson; 3 brothers-in-law, Mr. Raymond Jones, Mr. Walter Jones, and Mr. Willie Wilson; 9 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to thank the Staff at Baptist East Hospital 5 North, for their services. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2012, with services to follow at 11 a.m. at Middle Baptist Church, 801 Whitehaven Lane, Memphis, TN. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery South.
