Eddie Marie (Ashley) Spencer Fisher, 81, of Memphis, TN went to be with the Lord 02/23/2020.  She passed from this earth at her home surrounded by loving family following a lengthy and hard fought battle with cancer.

She graduated from Becker High School and had an associate degree in business. In her youth, she had been a legal secretary she retired as a Concrete Contractor.  She was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church, baptized at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church, a master gardener, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great aunt, friend and business woman, home owner, home maker, avid reader, traveler , lover of all animals (excluding snakes), and tough as nails lady, strong willed.  She loved God, her family, her friends, and dogs, Buddy and Shorty with her whole heart.  Never afraid to speak her mind, she was a brilliant woman who enjoyed being outside with her plants and lived for water gardening.  A master of gardening, she always learned everything she could about the plants she grew. If one were to simply ask the name of a plant and expected a simple answer as water lily, that person would instead get the Latin name and genetic background of each species she care for.

She was a warrior and champion against cancer.  She passed peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones when she decided her fight was finished and that she had battled as hard as she wanted to and for as long as she wanted to.  No, cancer did not win a single battle nor the war.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Lee and Kerry Hill Ashley, and her husbands, Marion I. Spencer and William G. Fisher.  She is survived by her daughter, Kay Green (Bobby),  her sister, Gwen Byars (Tommy), her brother, Jimmy Ashley (Pat), her grandchildren, Tina Carter (Chris), Bobby Green III (Jenny), and Adam Green (Peyton), four precious great-grandchildren, Leah, Little Adam, Mason Barrett, Marsha, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  Visitation will be Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 1:00~2:00 p.m. service following at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hill Funeral Home, East (2440 Whitten Rd.
