Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. and mass at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 155 Market Street, Memphis, TN 38105. A private burial will be at Forest Hills, East Funeral Home.
Edith Pieroni Cerrito, 102, passed away, peacefully, Tuesday, May 25, 2021. She was born November 19, 1918, in Memphis, TN. She was an incredible Italian cook and baker. She was very creative. She enjoyed making pottery and growing plants and herbs. She had a true love of reading and was a voracious reader. Everyone who came in contact with her, immediately adored her. The highlight of her life was her three children, Dolores C. Engelberg (Arnold), Samuel Everett Cerrito (Bonnie) and Donna C. McClure. She loved them, dearly. She also loved and was very much a part f her grandaughters' and great-grandchildren's lives, Leslie E. Freedman (Rachel and Alex Freedman) and Lauren E. Notowich (Sam Notowich, Jake, Chloe and Brooke Notowich). She was "the rock" of her family. Until her health conditions made it impossible, she attended Mass, weekly and was a devout Catholic. She will be desperately missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Memphis
Jewish Home, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), or an organization of your choice.
