Edith Laverne Belk 80, of Southaven, MS, passed away in Southaven, MS on January 1, 2017. Mrs. Belk was a graduate of Como High School and received an associate''s degree from Northwest College. During her career she was employed by Baptist Hospital as a surgical tech and later became an OB technician. She was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church and had been a member of Como Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and was known as a great pianist. Mrs. Belk is preceded in death by her parents, John and Johnnie Laverne Davis, and a brother, Joe Davis, and sister, Dottie Marie Davis. Mrs. Belk is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, James Sidney Belk. She is also survived by her 4 children, Randy, Robert, Ronnie, and Renee''; her 9 grandchildren, Stacy, J.R., Nikki, Sydni, Zack, Amanda, John, Jeb, and Seth. She also has 6 great grandchildren: Will, Wesley, Rowe, Coltley, Robert, and Dominic. Services will be at Forest Hill Funeral Home, South at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017, with burial at Friendship Cemetery, Como, MS.
