Edna was born  on Feb. 5,1931 in Memphis. She spent her early childhood in Port Gibson, Mississippi and when she was 10 her family moved back to Memphis. She graduated from Messick High School. She married J. C. Morris on Sept. 4, 1949 and they had 5 children. The family were long time members of Highland Heights Baptist Church. While being a homemaker, she worked at Montesi Grocery, Walgreens Drugstore and Ryan's Steakhouse. She also co-owned and operated Twin Lake Ceramics with  her sister, Olive Summerford.

Edna loved to Quilt and Crochet and for years competed in many categories at the Mid-South Fair where she won many ribbons. She enjoyed collecting antique salt cellars and other salt memorabilia. It was a hobby her family enjoyed sharing with her. For the last 6 and 1/2 years she lived at Robinwood Retirement Community where she enjoyed the company of many good friends. Her family and friends were blessed to love her and to be loved by her. Her smile will be missed by all, especially her grandchildren whom she loved to hear call her "Nanny". We all used to be her Angels, now she is ours.
