Edward E. Brantley, 88, of Bartlett, TN passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Harbor View Nursing & Rehab Center after a long illness. He was born in Attala County, MS, but has been a resident of the Memphis area most of his adult life. Mr. Brantley, a WW II Army Air Corps veteran, served 3 years with the Civil Conservation Corps. After many years as a machine engineer/ foreman for Mill Morris Corporation and Continental Can Company, Mr. Brantley retired from a long and successful career as a car salesman for some of the major dealerships in the Memphis area. Mr. Brantley married the prettiest girl he ever met, Bonnie Lynn Pender, also from Kosciusko, MS. On June 28, 2012, they marked their 69th wedding anniversary. Besides his wife, Bonnie Lynn Pender Brantley, he is survived by one son, Ed Brantley of Atlanta, GA; three daughters, Deb Brantley Harrell and Randi Brantley Sarsfield (Tim), both of St. Louis, MO, and Vicki Brantley Jackson (Mike) of Bartlett, TN; grandchildren, Bonnie Harrell Padberg, Brooke Brantley Merrill, Pender "Pen" Brantley, Michael Lynn Jackson, Tom Sarsfield and Katie Sarsfield; great-grandchildren, Ivy Ann Padberg, Marisa Padberg, Tristan Brantley and Ezra Lane Jackson. Mr. Brantley was preceded in death by his son, Roddy Lane Brantley and one daughter, Bambi LuAnn Brantley. He was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, Raleigh, TN. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2012, at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home with interment to follow.
