Edward Calvin Caraway, of Memphis, TN was born on October 7, 1931, passed away on March 1, 2013, at his home. Eddie was a retired Captain from the Memphis Fire Department, where he served honorably for 30 years. He also served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Anna Mavis, as well as three sons: Duane, Derek (Shannon) and Kirk (Anne) and four grandsons. Eddie is the son of Ruby Nell Gunn (d) and James Priestly Caraway (d) of Hickory, MS. Eddie is survived by his older brother Mason of Noxapater, MS and sister Erlene Young of Pascagoula, MS. His other siblings Denmon, Demar, Jeff, Nate and Brian are deceased, as well as his twin sister Edna. The funeral will be held at Forest Hill East Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday with visitation prior, from noon to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Fire Museum of Memphis.
