EDWARD JURKOWSKI, 83, of Southaven, MS, passed away January 7, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital DeSoto. He was was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church, active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5062 and 4th degree Knight of Columbus. He worked at Sunbeam Appliance as a production manager and after retirement devoted much of his time to volunteer work. Mr. Jurkowski was a charter member of Silver Foxes, an organization that assists children and adults with wood-working projects at Madonna Learning Center. He managed the kitchen facility at Council 5062, organizing and serving monthly parish spaghetti dinners, along with dinners for St. Peter Manor and other organizations. Mr. Jurkowski was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, and is survived by sons, Tom (Mary Ann) of Arnold, MO, Tim and Terry of Southaven; daughters, Diane Brant (Russell) of Southaven, Sandy Pruitt (Ronnie) of Madison, AL; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, with mass to follow at 11 a.m., all at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1425 E. Shelby Dr. Interment will be in Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery.
