Obituary

Edward Ray Palmer, Sr., passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at age 92. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Billingsley Palmer. He is survived by his three children: Reba D. Seeger, Ed Palmer, Jr. (Carol) and David L. Palmer. He is also survived by a brother and three sisters, four grand- children and eleven great-grand- children.

He was born in the country outside Holly Springs, MS in 1926 where he was raised on a farm. He even ploughed behind a mule while working for his father. At age 18, he enlisted in the US Army and in December 1944, found himself assigned to the 778th Tank Battalion where he served until wounded in March, 1945 in Germany. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
After his Army service he married the love of his life, Anne Billingsley. He then went to work for Kimberly Clark for 33 years until retirement. He was a member of Piperton Baptist Church.
The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care Unit at the Veteran's Administration Hospital, as well as the staff at Hearthside Senior Living and the Covington Care Center who provided him with respect and superior care.

Funeral will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, 2440 Whitten Road. Visitation at 9 a.m., with burial service at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2018. 901-775-0310.
