EDWARD H. WILLIAMS, 84, of Cordova, TN, passed away on January 27, 2014. He retired from the Commercial Appeal after 41 years and was a Korean Army veteran. Mr. Williams was a referee for basketball and football games for approximately 30 years and was a member of the Memphis Amateur Sports Hall of Fame. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette Williams; son, Eddie (Teresa) Williams; daughter, Sandra (Tim) Thomas; brother, Robert Clyde Williams; two grandchildren, Katie, Zach; and a great-granddaughter, Evi Grace. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service begins at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 30 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home, with interment following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be sent to Advent Presbyterian Church, where he was a member, or to St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital.
