Master Chief Petty Officer, Retired, Edward B. Winkler, 91, passed away in Bartlett, TN on December 15, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lucy Anders Winkler as well as his 2 daughters, Donna Ansuini (Steve), Diane Bailey (Doug) and 1 son Kevin Winkler (Laura). Master Chief Winkler was also blessed with 6 grandsons and 5 great grandchildren.

He was born June 21, 1926 in Charles Town, West Virginia, after graduating from high school he joined the United States Navy in May of 1944 and retired after serving for 30 years. After his retirement he attended Memphis State (University of Memphis) where he earned his Master''s Degree in education. He taught in Navy schools at Millington Naval Air Station for almost 20 years and retired when most of the school was moved to Pensacola, FL. He then worked at Bartlett United Methodist Church for many years helping with bookkeeping and writing the church newsletter. The family requests that any memorials be sent to his church Bartlett United Methodist in his honor.
