Elaine E. Graham Barnard, beloved wife, mom. and Yaya, passed away December 18, 2022. Elaine was born June 2, 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee. She married Gary Joe Barnard, Sr. in June 1969. Elaine and Joe welcomed their first born, Joey, in March 1971. In June 1974, their daughter, Tracey, was born.

Elaine completed her Cosmetology training in 1970. She worked as a hair stylist for many years before discovering her love for teaching. Elaine began teaching Cosmetology in 1978. Elaine loved sharing her experience and skills with her students. She retired in 1991 to be at home with her family full time.

Elaine's greatest love was for her family. With over 53 years of marriage, Elaine and Joe weathered life's ups and downs. They tragically lost their son, Joey, in 1995. They celebrated Tracey's marriage to Mike Walker in 1996. Elaine was tickled to become a "Yaya" to her grandson, Garrison, in 2003. Later, she embraced her granddaughter, Tatum, in 2009. One of Elaine's greatest joys was watching her grandchildren grow. Garrison and Tatum were both her pride and joy.
