Elaine Snowden, 87, formerly of West Memphis and Whitehaven, currently of Germantown, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016. Ms Snowden was preceded in death by her husbands: James L Snowden and William Piercy; parents: William and Fannie Pearl Rowland; and two brothers: Bill L. Rowland and Dr. Harvey L. Rowland. She is survived by her sister, Pat Rowland; niece, Gina Miller; great-nephew, Ryan Miller; and sisters-in-law, Daisy Rowland and Dr. Nancy Rowland. Ms. Snowden retired from AT&T after 35 years of service. She was a round dance instructor and also a member of a round dance club, The Celestial Club. Ms. Snowden was a member of First United Methodist Church of Memphis where she sang in the choir. She was also the president of the local chapter of the UMW (United Methodist Women). She loved anything to do with animals, especially dogs. A visitation will be held from 12:30-2 pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 with a funeral service to follow at 2:00. All services and interment will be held at Forest Hill, South on Holmes Rd.
