Elizabeth Bradley
Kulow
Nov 21, 1938 — Dec 13, 2021
Elizabeth (Liz) Ann Bradley Kulow, age 83, died peacefully on Monday, December 13, 2021 surrounded by family. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on November 21, 1938. Liz graduated from Central High School where she was a member of Zeta Beta Theta Sorority, and was active in Rainbow Girls, the church youth group at Epworth Methodist church and the Girls' Chorus. She attended Mississippi State College for Women her freshman year and later received a B.S. degree cum laude from Memphis State University. She was also 3 credit hours shy of receiving her Master's degree in Education, also from Memphis State University.
Liz taught kindergarten and directed the Child Care Center at Raleigh United Methodist Church for over 35 years. She also served as the church organist in various Memphis churches for over 60 years including: Park Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian, St. Stephen United Methodist, Frayser Heights United Methodist and Raleigh United Methodist where she played a beautiful duet on her last day of life.
Liz's favorite word was joy, and she brought much joy to everyone who knew her. At a very young age she had a specific list of what she wanted to do when she grew up – be a mother, a teacher, and play music. She was abundantly blessed to do each of these things and was most proud of her accomplishments as a mother and a "Nana." Liz had a servant's heart, was thankful for all things, and devoted her life to one of faith and prayer. Her glass was always half-full and her bright light will be missed.
Mrs. Kulow is preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Kulow and her parents Howard and Myrtle Bradley. She is survived by her daughter, JoAnne (Bob) Henegar, son Brad Hardesty and grandsons Dean and Kyle Van Frank.
The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, December 16 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Forest Hill Funeral Home located at 2440 Whitten Road Memphis, TN 38133.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, December 17 at 1:00 pm at Raleigh United Methodist Church located at 3295 Powers Road Memphis, TN 38128.
