Elmer Bernard (Moe) Chapman, 96, died peacefully on April 27, 2022. He graduated from Southside High School in 1944. Elmer was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army 96th Infantry as a rifleman and flamethrower. He was a Purple Heart recipient as well as the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with Bronze Star. He retired after 43 years working at Graybar Electric Company. Elmer spent many years as a Boy Scout Leader and much time participating in his favorite "therapy" which was fishing! He enjoyed traveling and cruising with his family.

Elmer was preceded in death by Kathryn, his wife of 73 years. He leaves his children, Glenda (Bernie), Glen (Pam), and Gregory (Sherry). His grandchildren include Allyn Kathryn Fraser (Alex), Samuel Chapman (Madi), and Craig Sharpe.
