Obituary

Elora Leah Bickel, known as Leah to her friends and family, of Southaven, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Baptist DeSoto at the age of 74.  She was born in London, Ontario, Canada to the late Ernest Linwood and Doris Evelyn (Tanner) Jeffries.

Leah was an LPN for many years and was a member of a prayer group at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Hernando and also a member of the One Body One Spirit Prayer Group at St. Louis Catholic Church in Memphis. She also enjoyed painting, crocheting, and designing and making jewelry, and recently has co-authored the book Three In One - From Darkness to Light.
Leah is survived by her beloved husband, Nicholas P. Bickel, daughter Valerie McCord (Robert) of Southaven, brother Lin Jeffries of Southaven, grandson Seth McCord of Memphis, and granddaughter Mackenzie Reynolds, who is currently serving as a missionary in Bolivia South America.

Visitation will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church 785 Church Road West, Southaven, MS 38672 on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm, and again on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park South in Memphis.
