Emmett G. Rushing was born to Emmett G. and Donna L. Rushing on November 23, 1954 in Fort Campbell, KY. Emmett, aged 71, departed this life on May 20, 2026 at his home in Fayette Co. TN surrounded by loved ones.

Emmett began working at Bellview Suzuki at 13 years old. He was their first sponsored racer. Shortly after, he began working on cars. His passion grew for building hot rods, riding motorcycles and playing banjo. He was a lover of life, but nothing gave him more pleasure than being with his beloved wife of 50 years, Charlotte.

Emmett is survived by his wife, Charlotte Rushing; one daughter, Stacey (Jason) Akin of Mentone, AL; one son, Bryan (Theresa) Rushing of Gore Springs, MS; 4 grandchildren, Heather Akin, Cassie Austin, Donald Austin, and Taylor Binkowitz; 7 great grandchildren; and one brother, Don Rushing of High Point, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett G. and Donna L. Rushing; and one sister, Donna Kay (Kayko) Montgomery.

Emmett was a great father, husband, and friend to many. He will be missed by all that knew him.
