Era Watson McKenzie, 82, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at her home in Oakland, MS. Mrs. McKenzie was born in Memphis to the late, John and Elizabeth Watson. She was a graduate of Tech South Side High School and worked at a secretary for H. S. Humphreys in Memphis. Era was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Beverly Hoover. She leaves her husband of 63 years, Lonnie James McKenzie; one daughter, Sandy Rainwater (Perry) of Southaven, two granddaughters: Shana Durdin (Josh) and Brittney Hoover both of Southaven; three grandsons: Kevin Rainwater (Hailey) of Harrisburg, AR, David Rainwater (Brittany) of Hernando, MS and Brad Hoover of Southaven; also three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 21 at Forest Hill South with service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
