Ernest C. Maynard, 89, lifelong resident of Memphis, TN, passed away on January 2, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sue K. Maynard and four children: Hiram Maynard, Harriett Burton (Phillip), Sally Damron, and Keely Koon. Ernest had six grandchildren: Zachary Maynard (Cady), Mary Alice Koon, Chandler Koon, Morgan Burton, Matthew Burton (Stephanie) and Sam Burton. He had five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Mark Mullis, and a sister, Patricia Garrett, as well as numerous family members and friends. Ernest was an Eagle Scout from Troop Ole 97. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea. He was retired from the Electric Division of MLGW and the VA Hospital. Ernest was a member of Ellendale Baptist Church and a former member of Wells Station Baptist Church. Visitation will be Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM with service immediately following at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN, 38133. In lieu of flowers the family requests any memorials be sent to: Ellendale Baptist Church , Wells Station Baptist Church, or the charity of the donor's choice.
