Ernest L. Moore, 93, resident of Ave Maria Home in Bartlett, TN, died August 1, 2014. Ernest was born May 29, 1921 in Memphis, TN and graduated from Walnut Ridge High School, Walnut Ridge, AR in 1937. He attended Arkansas State University. He served as a flight engineer in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired from Kellogg Company. He was a member and former deacon of Cherokee Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Marietta Hobbs Moore; his parents William Edgar and Elizabeth Hilliard Moore; his sisters Carolyn Gallagher and Sally Ford and his brother, William Moore. He is survived by daughter, Mary E. Moore of Johns Creek, GA; son and daughter-in-law, David and Martha Moore of Atoka, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 4, from 1 - 2 p.m. with funeral service starting at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital or Ave Maria Home.
