Ernestine Watts Gravatt, born on May 30, 1925, passed away on May 9, 2023 at the age of 97.
Ernestine was a homemaker first and foremost. She was totally devoted to her Lord and to her family. Her husband and her family were her life. She always put them first. She was a devoted Christian and church member. She served in many different ministries in all the churches in which she was a member. These included Park Ave. Baptist, Audubon Park Baptist, Wells Station Baptist, and Gracewood Baptist. At the time of her passing she was a member of Big Creek Baptist.
She also worked as a church secretary at various times throughout the years. At one point she also served as a cafeteria worker at Messick High School.
Ernestine Gravatt was an excellent example of God's love, and she shared it with everyone. She was truly a blessing to everyone who knew her.

Ernestine is survived by her husband of 79 years, J.T. Gravatt; three sons, Ernest Dale and Judy, John Glen and Emily, and Paul Duane and Christy; a daughter in law, Audrey Dale; a sister, Maryann Millican; a brother, Doyle Eugene Watts; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Grace Helen "Potts" Watts; a son, Doyle Jay Gravatt and a great grandson, Jacob Pegram.
