Mother Estella Gordon Campbell was born May 22, 1921 in Abbeville, MS. She transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Carriage Court of Memphis, Memphis, TN. Mother Campbell's parents and siblings preceded her in death. Her husband of 58 years, Mr. Ben Campbell also preceded her in death on June 3, 2018.

Mother Campbell's commitment to Christ began at an early age and her spiritual journey continued for a lifetime. She was a faithful member of Saint Matthew Baptist Church for seventy-eight years under the leadership of Reverend Jasper Williams, Sr., Reverend H.H. Harper, and Reverend Patrick L. Lewis, Sr. She was truly blessed and diligently served as an appointed "Mother" of the church. She was the oldest living member of the church at her demise.

Mother Campbell was a loving wife, an excellent mother, a wonderful neighbor, and a great mentor. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, a devoted and faithful son, Lavalius (L.C.), a loving and caring daughter-in-law, Henrilynn; a step-daughter, Berita Campbell of Hillside, IL; four grandchildren, Lavaluis Jr. (Tanya) of Houston, TX, Nicole Gordon of Waldorf, MD, John Stephey and Tyree Jackson of Berkley, IL; four great-grandchildren, Grant, Trent, Alex, and Bria Gordon of Houston, TX; a niece, Mary Bethany of Memphis, TN; two brothers-in-law, L.C. Campbell (Jeannie) of Chicago, IL, and Judge Lee Logan of Mound Bayou, MS; one sister-in-law, DeVoyce C. Morris (Rogers) of Mound Bayou, MS, and many friends including the loving Saint Matthew Baptist Church family.
