Eunice Jason "Jay" Hogan went to be with his Heavenly Father on December 19, 2012 in his hometown of Memphis, TN. Jay was born on January 1, 1923 in Walnut Ridge, AR to Chas Hogan and Lucinda Morrow. He attended school until the 8th grade, when he went to Civilian Conservation Corps during the Depression in Minnesota, to learn a job skill so he could work and send money back to his family. He entered the United States Army in April 1943 and was in Company B 163rd Engineers Combat Battalion. He was wounded in combat, was honorably discharged in October 1945 and decorated with a Purple Heart. Over the years he was a member of the Shriners, a Mason and was a member of American Legion Peter Smith Post 327. He opened his own business, Jay Hogan TV Sales & Service in Raleigh, and was a small business owner for over 30 years. He leaves behind his loving wife, Gloria Arnold Hogan of Raleigh. He also leaves behind three siblings, Charles and Ruth Hogan of Bartlett, TN, Thomas and Peggy Hogan of Memphis, TN, and Daniel Adams of Phoenix, AZ. Six siblings preceded him in death: Charlene Granoski, Nadine Cozart, Anita Jett, John Adams, Robert Adams and Wilbur Adams. He also leaves behind five children: daughter, Leslie M. Hogan of Kansas City, MO, daughter Marilyn Hogan Clement and husband Benny of Ripley, TN, daughter Shelby Jo Hogan Ellison of Ripley, TN, son William O''Neal Hogan and wife Sylvia of Fruit Heights, UT and pre-deceased daughter Lynda Sue Hogan Ellison of Holladay, TN. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 27 with visitation 12-2 p.m. at Forest Hill East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN 38133.
