Eunice Opal "Nanny" Taylor (ne Merritt) died peacefully in Methodist Hospice Center on September 6, 2016 in Memphis, TN at the age of 82.

Nanny is survived by her children Gary Taylor and his wife Lee, and Debra Muse, all of Collierville, TN. She is also survived by her grandson Ben Shelton and his wife Sheryl, also of Collierville, TN. She is preceded in death by her husband Carrol Taylor and daughter Sybil Gail Knight.

Nanny was born on March 9, 1934 in Camden, AR to Benjamin and Sybil Merritt. She spent many years caring for countless children in her home, loving each as if they were her own. Nanny loved to read and cross stitch, as well as tend to her flowers and bird watch in her backyard. She was also a lifelong Arkansas Razorback fan who loved to call the hogs.

A funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Forest Hill Funeral Home - East at 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, Tennessee 38133 with a reception to follow at 1388 Squire Dudney Dr., Collierville, TN, 38017. A viewing will be held before the funeral on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Randy Hill will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Nanny''s life.
