Obituary

Evelyn Sanders Moser passed away peacefully on Saturday , December 11 , 2021 , after an illness . Sh e lived a beautiful and remarkable life for 89 years . Evelyn was born on Octo b e r 1 , 1 93 2 in Memphis , TN to Jesse and Gertrude Martin Sanders . Her family moved to LaGrange , TN shortly afte r h er birth and she moved to the Bartlett / Ellendale area when she was a teen . She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1952 where she met her high school sweetheart , James " Jimmy" Moser . They married on July 18 , 1 952 and had 69 wonderful years together.

Evelyn ' s life was filled with joy and she always greeted everyone with her beautiful smile . S h e was an active member at Bartlett Baptist Church . She enjoyed being a Sunday School teac h er and went on church mission trips to Brazil , Honduras , China , and Vietnam . Her adventurous life included being a Welcome Wagon hostess , real estate agent , cheerleader coach , and even worked a booth at the Mid South Fair . He r hobbies and passions were painting which included roses , landscapes , and grandchildren ; growing and showing beautiful roses with Jimmy while in the Dixie Rose Society ; creating the Granny style " slip - n - slide " ; and deer hunting where she out harvested Jimmy several times on the deer count for the year . N ot only did Evelyn and Jimmy have a large rose garden , they always had a wonderful vegetable garden . They shared many vegetables with family and friends throughout the years . At one time , Evelyn had a vegetable stand in the front yard and when times were slow , she would leave an honesty box at the stand with the vegetables .

Her life ' s story has b een a sweet harmony of genuine love , service , and friendship . She will always be remembered as an amazing and wise wife , mother , and Granny to her family . She loved and shared abo u t her Lord and Savior , Jesus Christ , and was the best prayer warrior of her time .

Evelyn was one of ten children and is preceded in death by three brothers , Douglass Sande r s , Lawrence Sanders , Ch a rles Sanders , four sisters , Virginia " Sister " Sims ( Leon ) , Florence Haynes ( Huey ) , Louise Cunningham ( Eddie ) , Marie Sanders , and one granddaughter , Mandy Moser Stewart .

S h e is survived by her husband , James " Jimmy " Moser , three children , J . Michael Moser ( Debbie ) , Richard Moser ( Vickie ) , and Rebecca Moser Ta pp (Richard ) , two sisters , Martha Sanders Peterson , Jessie Stovall ( James ) , and sister - in - law , JoAnn Sanders . She is also survived by eleven grandchildren , Jim Moser ( Amy ) , Allison Touchstone , Jodi Balkum , Candice Moser Log an , Brandi Moser Richards ( Will ) , Katy M oser Betts ( Hunter ) , Brent B i ggs ( Jessica ) , Heather B i ggs French ( Travis ) , Allan Tapp ( Suzanne ) , Mary Ta pp James ( Ty ) , Chad Tapp ( Sara ), and 24 great - grandchildren .

T h e family will celebrate her life at Bartlett Baptist Church on Kirby Whitten Parkway on December 17 , 2021 . Visitation will begin at 10 : 00 AM and the service will begin at 11 : 00 AM . Burial Service will follow at Forest Hill East Cemetery on Whitten Road .
