Farideh Farjad, 74, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on 3/15/2018.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, 3/19/2018 at Forest Hill Funeral Home East at 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN 38133.  Farideh was born in Tehran, Iran to Javad and Fatemeh Farjad on 12/27/1943.  She married Morteza Vali on 12/31/1962 in Tehran, Iran.  She worked as a draftsman for STP Engineering.   She retired in the early 90's and would regularly visit her son and brothers in the United Kingdom, Maryland, Texas, and Tennessee.  In 2002 she became a US permanent resident, and a US citizen in 2012.  Her hobbies were walking, gardening, cooking, watching game shows, period piece movies, and cooking shows.  She loved to watch The Price is Right, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune.  She rarely missed an episode.  She would watch a cooking show, take notes, walk to the grocery store, buy the recipe ingredients, and perfectly prepare it for dinner.  She was full of energy, drive, and had a steely resolve.  When she set her mind to get something done, it would get done quickly and correctly.  Farideh is preceded in death by her husband, Morteza, her father Javad, and her brothers Manouchehr, Saeed, and Mahmood.  Farideh is survived by her son Ali Vali and his wife, Karla; brothers Fariborz and Masoud, and her mother Fatemeh.

The family of Farideh wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Doctors Ara Hanissian, Raja Khan, and Mark LeDoux.  We would also like to extend our thanks to all the nursing staff and assistants, Julie Cardosi-Haag, Lola Young, Niki Edwards, Alex South, and Deacon Jack Chitwood at Ave Maria Nursing home.  A very special appreciation goes to April Maben who took great care of Farideh when she lived at home and continued to visit her at Ave Maria.
