IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fay O.
Davis
September 27, 1936 – October 6, 2025
On October 6, 2025, as a light mist of rain kissed the face of his earthly home, a devoted soul ascended into heaven to kiss the face of his Creator.
Fay Oswald Davis, (89) of Collierville, TN, lived his life filled with adventure and surrounded by a family that dearly loves him. His fascination with airplanes, cars, boats and motorcycles offered him ways to race with the wind, yet he was fully grounded in his Christian faith. He lived an exemplary life of devotion and unwavering dedication with purity of heart and soul.
His dependable, gentlemanly ways endeared him to others. When he retired from a career as an Air Traffic Controller, he moved into his second career as a corporate pilot where doctors and business owners quickly transitioned from employers to lifelong friends.
Fay also loved nature and woodland animals. During his retirement years, you would often find him sipping coffee in the morning while watching the birds and little creatures that frequent his backyard. He delighted in seeing a new bird visit his feeders, but the protective crows held a special place in his heart as they soared overhead and challenged any predators that endangered the smaller birds.
As a greeter at the church doors, he welcomed members and new comers with a smile, a handshake and a hearty "good morning". Even now, no doubt, he is greeting members and new comers into heaven.
Fay was also a 50 year (lifetime member) of the Masonic Order, a fraternal brotherhood that is united by their belief in the "Great Architect of the World", who seek to serve others without praise and unnoticed by the world.
Everyone who knew Fay, knows how greatly blessed we were for him to be in our lives. Although our hearts are breaking, we will see our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend again, but at that time it will be for an eternity and not just the earthly fraction of time.
Fay was preceded in death by both of his parents, as well as two sons, Gean "Buddy" Davis and Brent Davis. He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Juanita Davis; 4 children, Ray "Butch" (Carin) Davis of Jefferson City, Montana, Susan (Jerry) Arimura of Lake Charles, Louisana, Cynthia (Steve) Vincent of Collierville, Tennessee and Dr. Benny Fay (Annie) Davis of Simpsonville, South Carolina; 19 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and a brother John (Becky) Davis of Rogers, Arkansas.
