Obituary

Faye Patton Medlin, age 93, passed away on February 15, 2025 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Faye was born January 24, 1932 in Prague, Oklahoma and grew up in Arkansas. She graduated from the University of Arkansas and eventually settled in Memphis, Tennessee where she raised a family with her husband Raymond Medlin. Faye was involved in community service through her church, first with Cherry Road Baptist Church, then Balmoral Baptist Church, and later with Bellevue Baptist Church. She felt a strong desire to help others in need, often prioritizing the needs of others over her own. Friends and family valued her thoughtful, kindhearted, and gracious spirit.

Faye is survived by her son Greg Medlin of Denver, Colorado, her daughter Kate Lin of Tyler, TX, her grandsons Philip Medlin and Andrew Medlin, and her great grandchildren Asher Medlin, Eliana Medlin, Norah Medlin, and Natalie Medlin.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents Etta and Lester Patton of Arkansas, her husband Raymond Medlin, her son Jeff Medlin, and her siblings Eula Willmore, Duane Patton, Elmo Patton, Margaret Mayes, and Doyle Patton.


Visitation will be held Tuesday February 25, 2025 at 9am followed by a service at 10am at Forest Hill Funeral Home East at 2440 Whitten Rd, Memphis, TN 38133.
