Fern Hayes Meadors, 101 years old, of Memphis, TN, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 15, 2018.  She passed away peacefully at her home after a long illness, surrounded by her family.

Fern was born on October 22, 1916 in Darden, TN to James Garfield Hayes and Clyda Mae Davis Hayes.  She was married for 50 years to Lemley Clayborne Meadors, formerly of Saltillo, TN, who preceded her in death.  She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Revalee and son-in-law, Jerry Sr., and two grandsons, Jerry Jr. and Joel.  Fern was a member of Grey Road Church of the Lord Jesus Christ for over 50 years, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years, a member of the adult choir, and active in the Ladies Auxiliary.

Visitation for Mrs. Meadors will be on Thursday, April 19, from 5-7 p.m., and funeral service on Friday, April 20 at 2 p.m., both at Forest Hill Funeral Home East.

Peggy and Jerry, who were caregivers for Mrs. Meadors during her last years, would like to thank the staff of Methodist Alliance Health Services for their compassionate home care, as well as the transition to hospice.  In addition, they would like to thank everyone for their prayers and words of comfort.
