Flora Irene Peeler Moore Dugan
Born January 18, 1923 and passed from this life peacefully Wednesday morning at her home at LifePoint Village, surrounded by her family on February 14, 2018.
She was the daughter of Reuben and Irene Peeler, born in Tippah County, Mississippi, one of eight children.
Flora was joined in marriage to William Hafford Moore, her high school sweetheart, in April 1947. Together they raised four children, Charlotte Marie, Norman Lee, Warren Hafford, and Flora Anniece in Memphis, TN. She worked for over eighteen years as a Licensed Practical Nurse first for LeBonheur and later retired from laboratory work at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis. She was predeceased by Hafford Moore and later remarried to Jim Dugan. She and Jim enjoyed several years of marriage and traveling together until his death.She was a faithful member of the Nesbit church of Christ. She actively supported various programs within the church and was involved with the Widows Group for many years.Flora was an active homemaker, enjoyed gardening both floral and vegetable, preserving her fruits of labor by canning jams, jellies and vegetables. She enjoyed reading and many crafts, including sewing, embroidery, crotchet, quilting, cooking and doing for others. She was recently blessed to celebrate five generations at a special family gathering.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving children, Charlotte Dunaway (husband Bruce) of Nesbit, MS; Anniece Kiersky (husband David) of Anacortes, WA; Norman Moore (wife Kay) of Falkner, MS; daughter-in-law, Judy Moore of Jonesboro, AR; her sister, Francis P. Hopper and brother Tate Peeler both of Falkner, MS; six grandchildren, Amy Webb (Chuck), Brian Dunaway (Kim), Erin Clines (Brandon), Kendell Murray (Jon), Alex Taylor (Brian), and Candace Kiersky; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Wm. Hafford Moore, her son Warren Moore, her husband James W. Dugan, her brothers J.M. Peeler, Randall Peeler, Ralph Peeler, Kent Peeler, and Carl Winston Peeler.
Services will be held Monday, February 19, 2018 with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. and services at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hill South Memorial Park, 2545 E. Holmes Rd., Memphis, TN. Mike Jones and Wayne Rogers are officiating the services.
The family appreciates all of the medical attention and loving care shown to her by the staff at LifePoint Village.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the Nesbit church of Christ or the Memphis School of Preaching.
