Florence "Flo" Stalter Fooshee, 91, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Southerland Place, Germantown. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 21 at Forest Hill South, 2545 E. Holmes Road, Memphis, with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery. Flo, as she was known to her friends, was born on February 24, 1922 in Park Ridge, New Jersey. She was a transplanted Pennsylvanian who came to Memphis in 1966 to visit her daughter, whose husband was in the Navy stationed at Millington, and never left. She was the widow of her loving husband of 39 years, Gerald Fooshee. Flo was the ultimate homemaker whose three main loves were her husband, her home and caring for neighborhood children. In 1989, Flo, and her late husband Gerald, received an honor from President Bush due to their community service, which was recognized by the Thousand Points of Light Foundation. She is survived by her loving daughter, Deanna M. Schaffstall (Edward), of Harrisburg, PA; grandsons, Robert E. Schaffstall (Raven) of Memphis, Richard R. Schaffstall (Susan) of Carlisle, PA, and Gerald J. Schaffstall (Carol) of Harrisburg, PA; and great-grandchildren, Joseph of Harrisburg, James of Harrisburg, and Lynne of Illinois.
