Frances Earline Janes, 93, of Charlotte NC, was born February 10, 1923 and passed away on February 11, 2016.

Wonderful, determined, opinionated, dependable, sweet, and joyful are terms her friends use to describe Mrs. Janes. Her children would add loving, strict, and fun. Born February 10, 1923 to Charles and Sally Brown, a farm family in rural Northern Mississippi, she outlived her five sisters and four brothers. Mrs. Janes was the faithful wife of JB Janes for nearly 73 years, wedded March 26, 1938 at age 15! She cared for her family, neighbors, and friends, even sitting with them through long illnesses. The meticulously kept Janes'' house In Memphis TN was an inn for missionaries, pastors, Christian college choir members, and family. The focal point of her life was her church. The Lord Jesus Christ reigned in her life and this was evident in every decision. She served in choirs, was a Sunday School teacher for adult women, taught home Bible studies, encouraged youth and adults in Bible memorization, helped with children''s AWANA programs, and always contributed something tasty for church dinners. She worked for over 45 years as a Shaklee distributor, through age 92.

The dining room table was often decorated to celebrate weddings and births. Beans and cornbread were prepared for a weary pastor, mixed with words of encouragement. Additionally, she displayed her superb cooking skills with delicious dinners for many guests. She was an encourager for the heartbroken women and for those she personally brought to Jesus Christ. Her ministry to others continued after her move to Charlotte NC in her later years. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven" Matthew 5:16.

She is survived by her daughter, Sue Patterson (Mel) of Mechanicsville VA, her son, Gary Janes (Judy) of Charlotte NC, six grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, JB Janes.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 2:00PM until 3:00PM at Forest Hill Funeral Home, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN 38133. Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 10:00AM at Forest Hill East Cemetery in Memphis, TN. There will be a memorial service at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Graceway Baptist Church, 4700 Weddington Road, Matthews, NC 28104.
