IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frances (Fran)
Louise Ray Harden
June 17, 1936 – January 13, 2024
On January 13, 2024 shortly after midnight, Frances Harden, age 87 went to be with the Lord. She had been battling dementia for over 7 years and was under hospice care. She was born June 17, 1936 in the Mississippi delta. She was a devoted Christian and member of Colonial Hills Church. Her home was always opened to family and friends. Fran was mostly a homemaker but did work some as a telemarketer for a heating and air business long ago. Before her health started failing, she enjoyed scratching backs, making the perfect sandwich, working her seek-a-word book, and spending time with Muffin and Buddy. She enjoyed good ole' conversations with visitors that would come by. Oh, and totally enjoyed Dr Phil shows over and over! But most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her loving husband, Aubrie Harden, precedes her in death. However, the last couple of years she did not remember him, she did look forward to reuniting with him again in heaven. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Harden Rhoda (Ronnie), her son Gary Wayne Sims (Malinda), and her brother Archie Ray, Jr. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren- Michael Harden, Cristal Harden Barlow, Brad Sims, Audrie Rhoda McCann, Tyler Sims, Autumn Rhoda Bailey, Hunter Sims, and Conner Sims, 7 great grandchildren- Cortney Harden Anderson, Seth Barlow, Jerry Barlow, Isabella Sims, Aubrie Grace McCann, Sophia Sims, and Oliver Sims, and 2 great, great grandchildren- Corbin Anderson, and one on the way. Fran was preceded in death by her stepson Jerry Harden (Helen) of Sardis, MS, her parents, Archie Ray and Mary Taylor Ray of Sardis, MS, and 3 sisters- Betty Croft (Saulsbury, TN), Mary Fay Gayden (Tunica, MS), and Sarah Baker (Benton, KY). She will be missed by her friends and family but know that she is made whole again in heaven. The world is a better place because of her.
A private graveside service for Frances Harden will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Forest Hill South, 2545 East Holmes Road in Memphis, TN. Then at 2:30 a celebration of life memorial service at The Gin in Nesbit at
931 Nesbit Road, Nesbit, Mississippi for those friends and family who wish to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America online at www.DementiaSociety.org/donate or can be mailed to P.O. Box 600 Doylestown, PA 18901 and note in memory of Frances Harden.
