Frances R. McDowell, 86, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at her grandson''s home in Byhalia, MS. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at Forest Hill Funeral Home South with interment to follow in National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. She retired from the Navy Exchange of Memphis after 22 years as a florist. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lucy Rennie; her husband of 25 years H. J. "Mac" McDowell; a brother, Cameron Rennie; and a sister, Winona King. She leaves a daughter, Jo Ann Lafferty of Memphis; a brother, David (Sue) Rennie of Little Rock, AR; a grandson Richard (Barbara) Harmon of Byhalia, MS; a great-grandson, Jacob, of Bartlett; two nieces; and four nephews.
