Mrs. Frances Joann Thornton, 78, of Memphis, Tennessee passed peacefully at home Wednesday morning, May 08, 2024.

She was born in Wayne County, Mississippi on Thursday, August 09, 1945 to Ernest Stevison and Olevia Stevison. She was a Homemaker.

Mrs. Thornton was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Olevia Stevison; three brothers, Martin Stevison, Leebert Stevison, James Earnest Stevison; sister, Earnestine Williams; son, Chris Freeman; daughter, Angelina Thornton.

She is survived by her husband, Rickey D. Thornton; son, Stan Freeman (Nee), of Klein, TX; two daughters, Adrienne Taylor (Ben), Alison Herring (Ross), both of Bartlett, TN; three sisters Avis Atchison, Iola Bunch, Janet Hudson, all of Waynesboro, MS; five grandchildren, Tai Freeman, Tim Freeman, Angelina Herring, Lily Taylor, and Holly Taylor.
