Frank W. Clay Sr., was born October 25, 1925 in Tyronza, Arkansas to the parents of Vergil Clay and Christine Rogers both preceded him in death. Frank was one of ten children-joining him Birda Golliday of Chicago, Ill; R.D. Clay (Novella) of Earl, Ark; Lula B. Wright of Charleston, MS; Mary Dean Cashoff of Charleston, MS; Travisteen Rogers of Charleston, MS; and Embry Rogers "Buddy." Also, Joe Rogers, Floristeen Stokes, and Sonny Estes Rogers all preceded him in death.
Frank enlisted in the Army December 8, 1945. At that time, Frank was deployed to Le Harve P O E France during WWII. His rank was Private First Class and his duty was Tank Driver Medium (2736). Frank served in WWII until his Honorable Discharge February 21, 1947. After the Service, he began his career as a truck driver for which he drove for several trucking companies until he retired from Allied Truck Co. Frank''s hobby was ceramics, which turned into his small business.
Frank was married to Annetta Marie Clay who preceded him in death. To their union was born eight children-Frank W. Clay Jr. (Sharlene) of Desoto, TX; Virgil Wesley Clay of Memphis, TN; Birda Tredene Dotson of Memphis, TN; Shelia Renette Davis of Louisville, KY; Faye Deloris Clay of Memphis, TN; Robert Nathaniel William Patro Clay(Carolyn ) of Cleveland, OH; Lena Michelle Bobo of Memphis, TN; Cleo Nadene Jackson (Joe) of Memphis, TN. All he leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his time he had on this earth. He also leaves 20 grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and many aunties, uncles, nieces and nephews and a special friend and confidant Hattie Mae Benson. Frank also married Arnaid Elizabeth Campbell Clay who preceded him in death.
Frank''s health started to fail him in 2011; he battled with dementia for several years until his death Saturday April 25, 2015.
