Frank J. "Jim" Baker, 83, of Hernando, MS passed away, September 7, 2021.  Jim is survived by his wife, of 44 years, Flavia, two daughters, Laura Burkhalter, Cindy La Ninfa (David) and three stepsons, Gerald "Pete" Crawford (Lisa), Mark Crawford (Lisa), and Gerry "Squeak" Crawford.  Nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank J. Baker, Sr. and Frances Evans Baker, and a stillborn sister.  He served in the Marines for 6 years and then went on to join the Memphis Fire Department in 1960, retiring in 1990.  He would tell everyone that he loved the MFD from the first day on the job until the very last day.  He came up through the ranks and was appointed by Mayor Dick Hackett as Deputy Director.  Jim was bigger than life itself.  He also loved Nascar, dancing, fishing and golf.  Funeral services will be held at La Belle Haven Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS with visitation beginning at 10:00 am and services to follow both Tuesday, September 14th.  Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers please donate to his Church, La Belle Haven Baptist, 4800 Hwy 305 N., Olive Branch, MS
