Franklin Delano Ramsey was born October 28, 1932 in Forrest City, Arkansas. A family friend asked if she could name the baby. As the presidential election was just a few days away, the friend said the baby would be named after the president elect. Mr. Roosevelt won the election, thus the baby was named after Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Frank grew up with 2 older brothers and all 3 were very close. He learned a very good work ethic from his parents and brothers. While in high school, Frank joined his brother Gene in working in the printing business. He had found his calling and would work as a typesetter for many years until his retirement.

In 1953, Frank married Willine Sampley. Within a few years they had 2 children and the family moved to Memphis, Tennessee for better employment opportunity. The family joined Colonial Baptist Church in 1960. They became very active in the church and continued serving for many years. One of Frank's favorite programs was a group of retired men dubbed " The Monday Work Crew" which he founded and recruited men with different talents to do all sorts of jobs in and around the church. Frank worked and headed up this group for many years until his health forced him to give it up.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Dicie Ramsey, his 2 older brothers, his beloved wife Willine, and his son Alton. He is survived by his daughter Lois and son-in-law Gary.

Frank was devastated when his beautiful bride of 72 years passed away on March 30th. In the early morning hours of April 8, 2025, Jesus came for Frank as well. He has now joined Willine and Alton in heaven.
