Fred Thomas Jacobs, 70, of Eads, TN met Jesus face to face Monday evening December 10, 2012. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A native Memphian, he was a graduate of the University of Memphis and retired from Federal Express with 16 years of service. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Methel Brown Jacobs; sisters Florence Downing and Pat Bisceglia; one son, Christopher Stone Jacobs; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer and Ashley Jacobs; 2 precious great-grandchildren, AJ and Hope Grace, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He attended Heartsong Church. Fred served as a member of the Marine Reserves. He enjoyed fishing with friends, family and relaxing on his farm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Women''s Program of the Salvation Army. Visitation will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home East on Whitten Road from 12 to 2 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012. A celebration of Fred''s life will follow at 2 p.m., also at Forest Hill Funeral Home East. Interment will be at Memorial Park in Memphis, TN.
