FRED A. TARTT, 70, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Veterans Medical Center in Memphis, TN. Mr. Tartt was born in Amory, MS and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. In addition to retiring from Dover Elevator, Fred served his church (Longcrest Baptist Church) for 43 years as a deacon, worked at Walls Elementary, and Sacred Heart Southern Missions. He also was able to fulfill his life long desire to help families in the funeral industry by serving as a funeral assistant for Forest Hill Funeral Home as his final career. Fred loved this job very much and was loved back by everyone he touched. Mr. Tartt is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sue Tartt; one son, Darrell Tartt (Erika); and two grandchildren, Kelly and Nathan. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 28 starting at 10 a.m. until the service begins at 12 p.m. at Forest Hill South Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
