Obituary

Freddie Lee Burns, Selmer, TN, was born on February 1, 1914 in Booneville, MS to John G and Sadie Burns who precede him in death. He passed on April 28, 2016 at the age of 102 years. Mr. Burns was a member of the Danville Church of Christ and Coleman Avenue Church of Christ. Freddie was well know for his music, and started a popular group know as "Freddie Boy Burns and his Ranch Boys". He is preceded in death by his wife of over 64 years, Virginia Rone Burns; five sisters, and two brothers. Freddie is survived by five nieces; Virginia Ann Shipman, Patricia Benjamin, Marie Durham, Margie Potts and Jeanne Potts; and by a host of other nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Hal and Jean Cooper. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 11 am-2 pm, with funeral services to immediately follow at 2:00 pm, all at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN 38133. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Danville Church of Christ, Biggersville, MS.
