Gail T. Manley, 69, of Memphis, TN passed away on April 8, 2020 at her home after a long battle with lung cancer.

Gail was born October 7, 1950 in West Memphis, Arkansas. She graduated from Frayser High School and soon after began working at Union Planters Bank. Through hard work and her special talents, she made a lifelong career in Human Resources. Gail retired from Regions Bank after 37 years of service and continued her career at Fed Ex.

Gail is preceded in death by her mother Dolly J. Worthington and her son John Michael Johnston, Jr.

Gail is survived by her loving husband William H. Manley of 27 years, her daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Jimmy Wilson, two grandchildren Erin and Evan Wilson, her siblings Bruce Worthington, Betty Addison, and Sharon K. Daley, and nephew Charles Worthington. She also leaves her four lovely stepdaughters, Leslie Manley, Ashley Edwards, Leigh Manley, and Allison Manley and their children Hayden and Hallie Edwards, Lane and Ruth Janssen, and Colson Douglas.

Gail loved being with her family, especially traveling to exotic places or even theme parks. She was a friend to many and family to most. Her extended family of nieces and nephews often called her Saint Gail instead of Aunt Gail. Gail was small in stature but had the big heart and tenacity of a champion fighter.

Gail will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Forest Hill Funeral Home East on April 14, 2020.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, for monetary donations to be sent to West Cancer Center and Research Institute. The loving staff provided the science and the friendship that supported her battle with cancer and gave her courage for 7 years.
