Gara B. Lester of Memphis, TN was born in Tipper Co., MS on March 2, 1932 to DeWitt & Willie Mae Mauney. Gara passed away on Aug. 2, 2016 at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 24 years, Clifford Lester. Ms. Lester is survived by her son, Leonard Lester (Vicki); brother, M.C. Mauney; and sisters, Odene Sampson and Clara Tarver. A visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 5 from 5-7 PM with funeral services to be held on Saturday, Aug., 6 at 10:00 AM, all at Forest Hill Funeral Home, East 2440 Whitten Road.
