Garvin D. Oaks, 86, passed away on September 15, 2018 in Southaven, MS.  He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dora Carter Oaks; a son, Garvin Oaks, Jr., of Olive Branch, MS and a daughter Christine Oaks Yates of Lake Cormorant, MS.  Mr. Oaks was blessed with three grandchildren, William Chris Oaks, Anthony Wayne Oaks and Nicole Raichart; also five great-grandchildren, Christian Conn, Jessica Oaks, AJ Raichort, Kaitlyn Oaks and Asher Lee.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, Lane Yates.  Visitation with his family will be Wednesday, September 19, 2018, from 5:00-7:00 pm.  His funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 10:00 am at Forest Hill Funeral Home, Midtown on South Elvis Presley Blvd.  901-775-0310
