Gary Michael Glaze, 77 of Memphis, Tennessee died Sunday, March 1st.

He was born in Memphis in 1948 to J.A. (Alvin), and Nelle Glaze.
He grew up in Frayser and graduated from Trezvant High School in 1966. After school, he joined the sheet-metal union, worked at International Harvester for eight years and ultimately retired from the University of Memphis after 27 years in the Physical Plant.

Gary was a devoted Sunday school teacher for many years and also taught weekly lessons at a local nursing facility. His level of commitment to the lesson was easily seen during the week with countless reference guides and pages of notes present as he prepared.

He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, as well as a University of Memphis, basketball and football supporter. From an early age, he fell in love with auto racing, traveling to hundreds of races in his lifetime and rarely missed a race on TV.

Gary was proceeded in death by his father, Alvin and mother Nelle.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of 49 years.
Son, Toby, daughter-in-law, Deanna, and granddaughter Shelby.
Son, Casey, daughter-in-law Elizabeth, and granddaughters Nevaeh and Teagan.
