Obituary

Gary E James of Lakeland, TN was born on 11/18/32 and passed away peacefully on 6/21/22 at Germantown Methodist hospital. Gary served his country for the Army in the Korean war. After the army he went to work for the Memphis Fire Department where he served our city for 28 years. He was also employed and retired from The Campbell Blueprint Company. He dedicated his life to helping people. He would periodically have breakfast at the Lakeland Fire Department with the firemen on the B shift. He still loved everything about being a Firefighter.

He married the Love of his life Maude B Hoffman on 9/30/52 and for 69 years their love was still strong. They had two daughters, Patricia Conrad
and Cynthia Harber (Mark). He was an amazing husband and father to his girls. He is survived by
a sister, Lucy Karnes of Rancho Mirage, CA and a host of nieces and nephews. He loved people and was loved by everyone who met him and left
an impression with whomever he met. He loved cooking and telling corny jokes. He loved country line dancing and went every chance he got. He was totally devoted to his family and friends and his absence will leave a missing piece in everyone's heart. He also attended Bellevue Baptist Church.

There will be a private ceremony at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery and a Celebration of his life at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations
can be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation in his honor. We will miss you Daddy.
